Welcome to the IESNA Pittsburgh Lightfair Trip Information Page.   This site will provide all the information you need to learn about the trip, register, or stay up to date with trip details.   Check back often to stay informed.
RECENT UPDATES:
  • The Inn at Green Tree (formerly the Holiday Inn Green Tree) is where we will start the trip.
  • Bus will depart at 4:30AM on May 5th.
REGISTRATION INFORMATION:

Registration Cost:  $300.00 per person (member) and $350.00 per
   person (non-member). All inclusive.

Registration Process:  To register, you can either print and fill out the Registration Form in its entirety and send to Steffanie Bako indicating method of payment -OR- if paying by credit card, Register Online.  Payment by check, or credit card, must be received in order for your registration to be accepted and a seat be reserved on the bus.

**Important Note - Due to requirements by the bus and hotel companies, we must submit contact information for each person registered.   Therefore, we are asking that a registration form be filled out for each person, even if from the same company.  However, a single payment can be made for multiple registrants.   Please note this on the registration form(s).

Credit Card Payment:  We can now accept payment via credit card for your convenience.   To pay by credit card, you must submit the registration form completely.   Upon receipt of your registration form,  Steffanie Bako will email you the link and password to the credit card payment page.   Please note, payment by credit card is acceptable only to those who have registered first.     In addition, once payment is made, your registration will be considered final and you will have reserved a seat.

TRIP ITINERARY - TUESDAY MAY 05, 2009 (DAY OF ARRIVAL): 

DEPARTURE FROM PITTSBURGH: Time of Departure: 4:30AM

We will promptly depart from Pittsburgh to head to New York City.   EVERYONE MUST BE ON THE BUS AND SEATED PRIOR TO 4:30AM.   It is highly recommended everyone get to the departure point no later than 4:15AM
Parking:  You will be able  to park and leave your vehicle for the duration of the trip.    The Inn at Green Tree has asked us to park at the FAR EDGE OF THE PARKING LOT.

BREAKFAST WILL BE PROVIDED COURTESY OF ARCHITECTURAL LIGHTING SALES!!  

TRAVEL FROM PITTSBURGH TO NEW YORK CITY:   Duration  - Approximately 7 Hours

We will stop one time at a rest area during the travel period.    You will be able to use the restrooms and facilities for approximately 30 minutes.

SNACKS/MOVIES ON THE BUS WILL BE PROVIDED BY REPCO II!! 

REFRESHMENTS ON THE BUS WILL BE PROVIDED BY LAFACE & MCGOVERN!! 

ARRIVE NEW YORK CITY @ SHERATON TIMES SQUARE:   Estimated Time of Arrival @ Hotel 11:30AM

When we arrive at the hotel, we will unload our luggage to a safe and secure storage area within the hotel.  We cannot check-in at this time so we will only be able to drop off our luggage for storage.   Once done, we will board the bus to head to the Javits Convention Center.   Please see the Hotel Section for lodging information.

LEAVE HOTEL AND HEAD TO JAVITS CONVENTION CENTER:   Estimated Time of Arrival @ Convention Center 12:30PM

We will all arrive at the Javits Convention Center to attend LIGHTFAIR International 2009.   You will receive your COMPLIMENTARY EXHIBIT FLOOR PASS upon leaving the bus.   Once you get your pass, you are on your own until departure from NYC on May 7th.

You will be responsible for checking into the hotel on your own.   Please see the Hotel Section for more information.

TRIP ITINERARY - THURSDAY MAY 07, 2009 (DAY OF DEPARTURE):

CHECK-OUT OF HOTEL AND HEAD TO LIGHTFAIR2009:   Time of Departure from Hotel 9:45AM

We will be checking out of our hotel and boarding the bus to head to the Javits Convention Center.    We will NOT be returning to the hotel again so please make sure you have all your belongings and have fully checked out.   The bus will leave and take us directly to the Convention Center to attend the conference.

DEPART FROM JAVITS CONVENTION CENTER FOR PITTSBURGH:  Time of Departure form Convention Center 4:00PM

We will promptly depart from New York City at 4:00PM to head back to Pittsburgh.   It is highly recommended everyone be at the bus by 3:45PM so we can be seated and ready to leave at 4:00PM.

LODGING INFORMATION:

Our two night accommodations is at the Sheraton Manhattan at Times Square (www.starwoodhotels.com/sheraton/property/overview/index.html?propertyID=425).    The hotel is located in the heart of Manhattan.    Your trip includes a shared accommodation in a single room with double beds.   We will post the lodging arrangements on this site once determined.

BUS INFORMATION:

The chartered bus is being provided by Lenzner Coach Lines.   The bus will hold a maximum of 56 people and is equipped with a lavatory and DVD/VHS player to TV screens located throughout the cabin.    The bus has storage for luggage and other items like the refreshments, snacks, etc.    Since we are only staying two nights, please limit your luggage to one suitcase and/or carry-on tote.
